Lakeside Park

Oakville Historical Society is hosting the annual Mayor’s Picnic in the Park at Lakeside Park (Front Street & Navy) on Sunday, 8th June at Noon until 4:30pm.

Come on down and catch a few tunes – the St.Paul’s Dixieland Jazz Band will be playing at the Gazebo from Noon to 2:00pm and the Oakville Wind Orchestra will be under the trees from 2:30 till 4:30 – so there’s something for everyone.

The children will love our two clowns – one for face-painting and the other makes fabulous balloon sculptures. The Town will be showing off the skills of the Fire Department and the Oakville Hydro Truck will be there and some brave souls might take a ride in the bucket – take some great photos from a bird’s eye view!

There will be the piper who brings on the Scottish Country Dancers for a display on the lawn – feel free to get up and move to the music!

Bring your picnic and enjoy the beautiful setting – oh, and a lawn chair too, as those picnic tables fill up fast! While you are there, why not check out the Old Post Office and Thomas House which are open in the park.
