Designed for family caregivers, this free eight week series will teach you how to care for a relative with dementia or Alzheimer disease, what to expect as the disease progresses, and which community resources are available to you.

Sessions are led by experts and will be held Wednesday evenings, 7.00pm to 9.00pm, from October 16th to December 4th, on the Sheridan College Campus at 1430 Trafalgar Rd. in Oakville.

  2. Understanding Changes in Behaviour: Seniors Mental Health Outreach Services
  3. Communicating with Persons with Dementia: Acclaim Health
  4. Safety in the Home and Community: Halton Region Police Elder Services Coordinator and Acclaim Health
  5. Community Support Services: Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre and Acclaim Health
  6. Information on Tax Programs: SB Partners
  7. Planning for the Future – Long Term Care Homes: Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre
  8. Care for the Caregiver: Coping Strategies: Acclaim Health and Family Caregivers
