Organization: Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate

Description: After Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922, Egyptomania hit – in fashion, art, design and architecture. Let’s embark on a journey back 100 years ago, when the world became enraptured with the treasures of Tut.

Sip wine, enjoy a selection of delicious cheeses, and learn about the discovery of Tutankhamen and how it influenced the world around him in the 1920s. How did Canadians – even Oakville residents – engage with ancient Egypt in the day and almost a century later?

Event generously sponsored by Whole Foods Market Oakville.
