Admired for his fiery rumba flamenco virtuosity since bursting onto the world music scene with 1995’s Tempest, the three-time Canadian Guitarist of the Year, Jesse Cook, also incorporates elements of Brazilian, jazz and world music. With 2012’s The Blue Guitar Sessions, Cook has embraced music’s “spare-ness”, piecing together an album of moody, easy-listening pieces infused with quiet blues, jazz and bossa nova sounds.

“Wherever Cook tends to ‘go’ with his projects, he always returns with an assortment of fine tunes and a noteworthy production that displays how seriously he regards his art while still having fun with its many facets.” ~ The Smooth Jazz Ride
