This workshop is for parents who:

  • Want to learn more about what is happening a teen’s brain as it is maturing and preparing for adulthood.
  • Are interested in having their teen learn skills and practices that will help them to effectively weather-well: the normal up and down moods, challenging emotions, hurt feelings; and negative, in-their-head, self-talk.
  • Want to learn about tools that will help their teen respond to life challenges with self-kindness and care, rather than harsh self-criticism triggering their threat system.
  • Want to learn about skills that will help their teen bounce back more quickly when hard stuff happens to them or to someone they know and care about.
  • Want to learn more about the mindfulness for teens training program for young people between the ages of 12-15 and 16-19 years of age called Making Friends with Yourself (MFY).
  • Want to learn some Mindful Self-Compassion Parenting practices that will really help when their teen’s behaviour is in a downward spiral, and needs their parent’s calm the most.
