Come in to the Fibre Arts Studio to view demonstrations led by the Oakville Fibre Artists.

Oakville Quilters Guild: Quilting Step by Step—
Breakout Room B031
Members will demonstrate steps involved in the quilting process including piecing, quilting and finishing.

Oakville Association of Knitters and Crocheters: Knitting and Crocheting Display and Demo — Fibre Arts Studio
Visit the Fibre Arts Studio to view demonstrations led by the Oakville Association of Knitters and Crocheters.

10:30–11:30 a.m.
Anyone Can Draw: Adult Workshop— Clean Studio 1
Experiment with a variety of drawing tools and techniques. Led by QEPCCC art instructors, develop a better understanding of visual perception required. Age: 18+. Maximum 12 participants. *preregistration required*

Culture Days Mugs: Adult Workshop —Ceramic Studio
Have a chance to play with clay and experience a clay session in the QEPCCC Ceramic studio. Led by a studio technician and a professional ceramic artist, participants will explore hand building techniques and clay sculpting to create a one-of-a-kind Culture Days mug. This workshop welcomes participants who are new to clay. No previous experience required. All materials and tools supplied. Dress for a mess. Maximum 12 participants. Age: 18+

Please note: Glazing and firing of clay pieces can take up to three weeks to complete. QEPCCC staff will contact you once your piece is ready for pick up. All clay, glazing and firing included in this workshop.

Intro to Photoshop: Adult Workshop— Digital Arts Studio
Learn how to use image editing software to take your digital photographs from good to great with a lesson in Photoshop basics! Learn how to tweak your photos into everything from clearer images to complete fantasies. Basic MAC OS knowledge is recommended. Maximum 12 participants. Age: 18+ *pre registration required*

1–4 p.m.
Creative Industry Showcase Digital Arts Studio
Creative industry professionals based in Oakville will have an opportunity to demonstrate their products to the Culture Days visitors. We will be highlighting those digital media/ ICT companies that have a consumer application to show-IPhone aps, educational software, games, animation, etc.
2–4 p.m.
Recording Studio: Behind the scenes
An opportunity drop in and watch a live recording session in the sound studio. Sit in with the audio engineer as he demonstrates recording techniques with live and local music acts.

QEPCCC Older Adult Centre Culture Days Coffee House Join the Queen Elizabeth Park Older Adult Centre coffee house, featuring:

  • 11 a.m.– noon, Oakville Rock’n Seniors
  • 1 to 2 p.m.- Guitar sing along
  • 3 to 4 p.m. – Ukelele performance
