Description: Tim Speed of the Cdn. Warplane Heritage Museum will share his knowledge of the Battle of Britain as its 75th anniversary is commemorated. More than 100 Canadians flew in the Battle between July and October, 1940; 23 lost their lives. Historians have described the Battle, involving almost 3,000 allied aircrew, as the turning point of the Second World War. The victory, described by Sir Winston Churchill as Britain’s Finest Hour gave hope to a demoralized Britain and northern Europe. It was the first battle to be won purely by air power.
