On Monday, October 2nd from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Sheridan is hosting a 50th anniversary celebration event for students, employees, and members of the Oakville community. The event will take place outside the SCAET building, which is accessible via Ceremonial Road off Trafalgar Road.

The event will feature:

The Colleges Ontario travelling exhibit celebrating the evolution of college education
– This 42-foot trailer has been visiting college campuses across the province. It houses a variety of displays highlighting the colleges’ history of innovation and success.

Official unveiling of the Sheridan Medicine Wheel Garden
– Designed by landscape architect Paul O’Hara in concert with Sheridan’s Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support, the garden features sacred Indigenous plants and a variety of native pollinator-friendly plants.

The premiere screening of a new social documentary about Sheridan, created by Dr. Christian Knudsen, professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
– Film screenings take place at 12:00 pm and 12:45 pm in Room J102.

A public history display about Sheridan, created by Dr. Peter Kikkert, professor in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Following official remarks by Dr. Mary Preece, President and Vice Chancellor, and the Medicine Wheel Garden unveiling at 11:00 AM, a BBQ lunch will be served to the first 500 guests beginning at 11:30 am.

The public is welcome to attend.
