On October 31, 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to a report of a residential break and enter that occurred on Truman Avenue, in the Town of Oakville.  During the course of this entry, the suspects stole the keys to the homeowner’s vehicle.

During the late hours of November 3, 2018, the homeowner’s vehicle was stolen from the driveway.

While investigating the theft of the vehicle, the HRPS received a call of a ‘hit and run’ collision at the Oakville Place shopping mall, located at 240 Leighland Avenue, Oakville.  Thanks to the assistance or eyewitnesses, the police located the stolen car several blocks west of the mall.

Eyewitnesses also provided information to the police which led to the capture of the three suspects who had fled the stolen vehicle. An 18 year old from Oakville, a 19 year old male from Mississauga, and a young person, were all arrested by the responding officers.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at an Oakville residence resulting in the recovering of property belonging to the Truman Avenue homeowner.  Investigators are now working to determine the three suspects’ potential involvement in other crimes that have occurred in surrounding neighbourhoods.  These crimes are believed to include break and enters, stolen vehicles, and thefts from vehicles.

Please note that the address to the location where the search warrant was executed has not been disclosed to protect the identity of the young person.
