What are you doing Monday nights?

Why not come out and experience a little bit of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) without leaving town.

Oakville’s own Monday Night at the Movies international film series returns to the Cineplex Cinemas Winston Churchill on Monday, September 10 with the hilarious and heart-warming British film “Finding Your Feet”. The film features Imelda Staunton, Celia Imrie, Timothy Spall, and Joanna Lumley.

Through its partnership with TIFF, Monday Night at the Movies provides movie lovers with unique access to the festival’s recent releases. It features some of the best independent films from around the world, that otherwise don’t have wide distribution.

Each feature film starts with an animation short showcasing the talents of the graduating class from Sheridan College’s Computer Animation programs.

“We’re an independent, volunteer-run group that works with TIFF to bring great movies from Canada, Great Britain and all around the world to our local community, and at an affordable price,” said Monday Night at the Movies chair, Clare Henderson. “Since our first season in 2006, our audiences have shown their appreciation for this one-of-a-kind movie experience by filling the theatre again and again, by their return visits and positive comments.”

Monday Night at the Movies is a not-for-profit organization. At the end of the programming year, the organization donates surplus funds to a variety of local charities and community groups, including scholarships and bursaries for Sheridan students.
