Key Performance Indicator ranks Sheridan number one

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results were released on Sept. 25 for Ontario’s public colleges and Sheridan once again stands out for its quality learning experience that prepares students for future employment.

Sheridan topped the results among Greater Toronto Area (GTA) colleges with a first-place ranking for overall student satisfaction (74.1%), overall graduate satisfaction (78.6%), degree program graduation rate (72.6%) and two-year diploma graduation rate (68.6%).

Within the student satisfaction metrics, Sheridan scored at the top amongst GTA colleges for preparing students with relevant knowledge and skills, and for the sixth year running, scored number one for the quality of the learning experience.

For employer satisfaction, Sheridan scored 91.5%, which is above the provincial average. Employers are interviewed six months after students enter the workforce and are asked to evaluate the college’s efforts in preparing the employee for their current role.

“We strive to create a dynamic experience for students that prepares them with relevant, hands-on and future-focused skills so they feel prepared to launch into rewarding careers,” said Dr. Janet Morrison, President and Vice Chancellor at Sheridan. “These results are proof that our efforts are positively impacting students, graduates and employers alike and are a testament to the tremendously dedicated faculty and staff we have at Sheridan.”

The Key Performance Indicator survey was introduced by the Ontario government in 1998 to collect and report performance data on Ontario colleges. The survey is conducted by an independent research company.
