Popular American eyelash salon franchise, Deka Lashes, has opened its second Canadian location in Bronte Village. Studio owners Mushabbir and Shama Chowdhury cut the ribbon on Saturday, July 20, 2024, and are excited to continue a family-founded franchise as a family-owned business here in Oakville.
Deka Lashes was founded in 2012 by Jennifer Blair from Pittsburgh. Once a stay-at-home mom, Blair set her sites on entrepreneurship and wanted to make a unique mark in the beauty industry.
By 2016, Deka Lash became a franchise and now operates approximately 130 studios in the United States. With their first Canadian location in Calgary, Alberta, Oakville is now the second.
“We are heavily drawn to the mission of making women feel confident and empowered, and fell in love with the elevated, open, bright and positive studio environment,” said co-owner, Shama Chowdhury.
“I feel incredibly blessed to be launching our business in our hometown,” said co-owner, Mushabbir Chowdhury.
According to the studio owners, Deka Lash offers a variety of lash and brow services for different lifestyles and budgets through membership options. Their certified Lash Artists recommend the best lash styles to enhance clients' eyes and natural beauty.
“At times when you feel like there is so much negativity in the world, we strive to have our studio be a place where our Lash Artists enjoy coming to work and make their clients feel more beautiful, confident and overall better than when they came in,” said Mushabbir Chowdhury.
Deka Lash is located at 125 Bronte Road, Unit #0145. They are open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Sunday opening later at 11 a.m.
