The Bronte Business Improvement Area (BIA) has unveiled a new initiative to encourage Oakville residents to support their local businesses.
As part of the national "Shop Main Street. Support Local" movement across Canada, the BIA's campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of Main Street businesses in the community’s economic and cultural life.
Kylie Wilson, Executive Director of the Bronte BIA, emphasized the broader impact of local businesses: “This campaign is about more than just shopping locally; it’s about making a conscious choice to invest in the future of our community," she said in a written statement.
"By choosing to shop, dine, and do business in Bronte Village, we are directly contributing to economic growth, job creation, and the preservation of the unique character of the neighbourhood for generations to come,” she said.

To help local businesses and residents get involved, the BIA is providing a toolkit that includes campaign logos, social media assets, and marketing materials. These resources are intended to assist business owners in spreading the message and encouraging consumer participation.
The Bronte BIA has also launched a "Love Where You Live, Shop Where You Live" contest, offering a chance to win a $1,000 gift card prize pack. To enter, customers who spend $15 (including taxes) at any Bronte business between March 15 and April 15 can submit their receipts.
