This Sunday at the Bronte Legion building, several vendors took the chance to sell their items at a Valentine's (and Galentine's) Day event put on by local business supporter Uzo Kanu.
The event featured several different stations that sold items like jewellery, sweets, and candles for Valentine's Day - and several friend gifts for Galentine's Day, which is a holiday to celebrate the friendships in your life that takes place yearly on Feb. 13.
The holiday was made popular by the sitcom Parks and Recreation and has since gained popularity. Similar to how the holiday Festivus was created by the popular sitcom Seinfeld.
The event was put together by Uzo Kanu who has put on events similar to this before and loves to help local businesses and even vendors when he gets the chance.
"I always wanted to help small businesses and these aren’t small businesses these are micro businesses who need help. I tried this out a while ago and it was a success and so I wanted to try it again and here we are."
Before hosting this event, he hosted a Christmas market and prior to that he hosted a market for the Oakville Woman’s expo.
He will hosting another event at the same location for the Easter season as well.
