Oakville North-Burlington MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos visited RAMPF Composite Solutions this morning, Friday, Nov. 15, to celebrate the investment of $6.2 million in the manufacturing business, which will create 20 new jobs at the company and create space for 20 current employees to grow and upskill.
Triantafilopoulos toured the almost 22,000 -sq.-mt. facility, which houses resin injecting equipment, carbon fiber 3D printing, roboting sanding, new machines using AI automation to reduce waste and more, before speaking on the provincial government’s commitment to investing in businesses like RAMPF.
"Our province employs over 800,000 people in manufacturing, the highest level of manufacturing employment in the province in 15 years," she said.
"That didn’t happen by chance. We have been laser-focused on creating the right investment climate so businesses can grow and thrive. Thanks to our efforts last year, Ontario created more manufacturing jobs than all 50 U.S. states combined, reinforcing our position as North America’s third largest manufacturing hub."
RAMPF, who manufactures fibreglass and carbon fibre parts for aerospace, medical and other industries, creates parts for emergency slides, high-end speakers, state-of-the-art flight simulators and airplanes. The company works closely with CAE Aviation Training and Services in Toronto, who have become a major partner for the manufacturing business.
"It’s been a whirlwind few years for us as an organization," Larry Fitzgerald, CEO of RAMPF, said. "The pandemic was tough for everyone and particularly tough for the aerospace industry. We went on a mission to reinvent ourselves in the middle of the pandemic, moving into this facility and looking at how we could get into different areas of business. We started working with CAE in June of 2023, and now in November of 2024 they have become our largest customer."
RAMPF has seen a rapid growth in both employees and sales, adding more than 20 people to their team of 50 over the last year and increasing sales by 50 per cent over the same period.
