According to figures released today by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of sales were up 0.4 per cent in November compared to the same period in 2012. Monthly sales totalled 536 compared to 534 in November 2012. The number of year-to-date sales increased by 4.9 per cent.
“The number of sales dropped in the month of November but despite this, sale prices continued to grow in Oakville and Milton,” said Aziz Kanjee, President of OMDREB. “Both communities experienced a residential median sale price increase of over 11 per cent. The resale housing market in Halton remains competitive heading into the holiday season.”
The dollar volume of all sales processed through the OMDREB MLS® system decreased in November 2013 to $246,241,011 from $252,595,652 in November 2012– down 2.5 per cent. The dollar volume of sales year to date increased by 7.8 per cent year over year from 2012 to 2013.
Oakville’s median sale price for the month of November was $607,500, an increase of 11.9 per cent compared to November 2012. The median sale price in Milton was $445,100, an increase of 11 per cent compared to the same time last year.
