Special events planned in Oakville for World Tourism Day

In celebration of World Tourism Day, Visit Oakville is promoting dozens of special events at local stores, restaurants and free public areas.

"Visit Oakville is excited to highlight the many ways both visitors and residents can explore and enjoy everything this beautiful town has to offer," says the organization.

"As a vibrant destination nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario, Oakville’s rich cultural heritage, picturesque waterfront, charming downtown and stunning green spaces are some of its many gems that will surprise and delight."

Here’s how you can celebrate and discover Oakville’s tourism offerings:

Downtown Oakville restaurant Hexagon was recently recognized for its culinary excellence with a MICHELIN star (one of only 15 stars in Ontario) and Chef Rafael Covarrubias was also recognized as the MICHELIN Guide Toronto 2024 Young Chef Award winner.   • Relax in beautiful green spaces – Oakville is home to over 1,400 hectares of parkland, 200 km of trails and more than 200 parks in Oakville, including Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Visit Lions Valley Park for a scenic fall hike or enjoy some family time at Coronation Park.
  • Discover the charming downtown area – Spend a day in downtown Oakville, where you’ll find an array of boutique shops, Oakville Galleries and delightful cafes. Don’t miss out on the lively events and live music that often happen in Towne Square.
