Visit Oakville has re-launched its Tourism Investment Fund with updated guidelines for 2024.

The fund, which supported seven organizations with $16,000 in 2023, is now open for applications for tourism-focused events that promote Oakville as a year-round destination.

Launched in 2019, the fund is designed to provide financial support to organizations hosting tourism-focused events in Oakville.

This year, priority will be given to events that demonstrate a strong focus on sustainable tourism, diversity, and inclusion as well as those that take place during the off-peak season (October - April).

Eligible events may include regional, provincial, national, and international tournaments, multi-day festivals, live music performances, conferences, and more.

"We are thrilled to relaunch the Tourism Investment Fund with a continued focus on the economic importance of overnight stays, while underscoring the importance of sustainability, diversity, and inclusion," said Rebecca Edgar, Executive Director of Visit Oakville.

"These criteria reflect our community values and our commitment to creating a welcoming and vibrant destination year-round. We encourage organizations with tourism-related events to apply and help us continue to showcase all that Oakville has to offer."

For organizations looking to apply, please go to Visit Oakville's website and fill out the Tourism Investment Fund Form.

The application period is now until Nov. 30, 2024, for events taking place between Jan. 1 - April 30, 2025. The next application window will open from Feb. 1 - March 31, 2025, for events scheduled between May 1 - Aug. 31, 2025.
