Local animal lovers are putting their best foot forward – literally – in support of the Oakville and Milton Humane Society.
The shelter’s signature fall fundraiser is fast approaching, with Prancing with the Stars set for Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Oakville Conference Centre.
Presented by Royal Canin, the evening pairs six members of the community with professional dancers to compete for the title of Best in Dance Show in front of a live audience.
Last year’s event took in $155,000 and was won by longtime OMHS supporter and cancer survivor John Garofano – who fittingly earned the judges’ nod to Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.
Realtors, business owners and a retired K9 police officer are part of this year's dance field.
The evening includes cocktails, dinner and a silent auction.
