The Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH) will be hosting their annual Black History Month (BHM) 2025 launch next Monday, Feb. 3 with reception at 6 p.m. and show from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Oakville Centre for Performing Arts (OCPA).
This year’s event includes a keynote speech by historian and professor Dr. Natasha Henry-Dixon, who will speak to her research about the histories of African Canadians.
There will be performances by gospel choir Kevin Adams & Voices of Praise, singer Natasha Waterman, a collaboration with CCAH Steel Band and Parang Ensemble. Land acknowledgement will be given by Jennifer Begin.
A CCAH steelpan pannist will be playing in the lobby prior to the show. Don’t miss this great opportunity to create harmony among the community. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through the OCPA Box Office online here.
CCAH says their theme this year is “Creating Harmony”, as it represents "our ongoing commitment to bring the community together and acknowledge the rich and abundant Black history in Halton for February and beyond."
