Central branch reopens after flood closure earlier this week: OPL

After being closed for two days, the Oakville Public Library (OPL) has officially reopened its central branch to the public as of this morning.

After being closed for two days, the Oakville Public Library (OPL) has officially reopened its central branch to the public as of this morning.

OPL announced that their central branch, located at 120 Navy Street was closed due to flooding on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

Staff announced on Wednesday night that the branch would reopen today.

"Central Branch will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, October 17 at 9:30 am, and resume regular operating hours," OPL said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). 

"Central Branch was closed on Tuesday, October 15 and Wednesday, October 16 due to flooding. Thank you for your patience."

Central branch will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
