Community Living Oakville is proud to be the featured charity for Oakville in the CanadaHelps GTHA Media Tour, an initiative connecting local charities with community leaders and media. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 2:30 to 3:20 p.m. at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre.

This event will highlight the transformative work of Community Living Oakville, with a special focus on its inclusive yoga program. The media and local influencers will experience firsthand how the organization fosters belonging and well-being for people with developmental disabilities.

The tour will feature a live yoga activity led by Kristeen Sopeju, showcasing the impact of therapeutic programs on the people supported by the organization. Following this, the Mayor of Oakville and Nazeem Lahashmi, Director of Services from Community Living Oakville, will participate in interviews with CanadaHelps. The event will culminate with a Q&A session with the media and the Mayor.

“We are thrilled to be part of the CanadaHelps GTHA Media Tour and to showcase the incredible work of Community Living Oakville,” said Nazeem Lahashmi, Director of services.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to share our mission of creating an inclusive community where everyone can dream, inspire, and belong.”
CanadaHelps’ GTHA Media Tour aims to amplify the voices of local charities and increase awareness of the vital services they provide. By partnering with local Mayors, the tour highlights the critical role that community support plays in fostering meaningful change.
