GALLERY: 8,000 people visit Bronte Village for annual Block Party

The second annual Bronte Block Party was a success on Saturday with attendance doubling last year’s numbers.

The second annual Bronte Block Party was a success on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, with attendance doubling last year’s numbers as around 8,000 people joined in for this year’s festivities.

A stretch of Bronte Road was closed to traffic and filled with games, crafts, food trucks, bouncy castles, live-performances and more. While the Block Party brought the community together, it also gave local businesses a chance to connect with residents.

"Bronte Village truly came alive at yesterday’s Bronte Block Party!" said Ward 1 Councillor Jonathan McNeice after Saturday’s event.

"Nearly 8,000 attendees filled the streets—double the crowd from last year—enjoying a vibrant mix of activities, local vendors, and entertainment."

"From live music and family-friendly games to artisan markets, the event was a true celebration of our thriving community," continued McNeice.

"It took me back to the days of the Waterfront Festival in Bronte during the ’90s, but this was even better!"

McNeice says this summer in Bronte Village has been "truly remarkable" with various events in the area drawing large crowds.

Notably from this summer was when 35,000 people came to Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park for the annual Canaday Day celebration.

"From the inaugural farmers market to the many music nights, cultural festivals, and events that have brought us all together. I can’t wait to see what we come up with next," said McNeice.
