Sex trafficking and sexual exploitation is – sadly – a problem many communities face, and Halton is no exception.
With that in mind, the Catholic Parent Involvement Committee – in partnership with Halton Catholic District School Board, SAVIS of Halton and EFRY Hope and Help for Women – is hosting an anti sex trafficking presentation later this month at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School.
Set for Wednesday, March 26 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m., the event will include guest speakers from SAVIS and One Child. The focus will be on raising awareness of sex trafficking, identifying the warning signs and the steps necessary to prevent it.
Students 12 and up are welcome to attend, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is required and can be done online here.
