“I would like to thank my fellow Trustees for their confidence in re-electing me," said Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Board. "Over the coming year, I will continue to uphold the highest standards of excellence, in support of all students in our HCDSB schools."

"I am eager to further our mandate in Catholic education; while prioritizing student achievement and the overall success of our board. I look forward to a positive and fruitful year ahead!"

Emma Murphy, new Vice-Chair of the Board, said, "I extend my appreciation and sincere thanks to HCDSB Trustees for choosing me as Vice-Chair of the Board.

"I am honoured to be in this role and look forward to working alongside the Chair, as we continue to support decisions at the board table that consistently prioritize the best interests of student achievement and well-being."

Trustees are elected every four years during the municipal election. The last municipal election took place on October 24, 2022.  The HCDSB is allocated a maximum of nine (9) school board Trustees.

HCDSB Trustees represent designated sections (wards) across each of the municipalities in the region of Halton – Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville.

Trustees meet on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of each month to discuss matters related to student achievement; serving as ambassadors to our school communities and Catholic education; and accountable for the decisions made by the Board.
