Mayor Burton announces 2024 Youth Climate Action Fund recipients

Mayor Rob Burton and Bloomberg Philanthropies have announced the winners of the 2024 Youth Climate Action Fund, an initiative empowering young residents to lead impactful climate projects in Oakville.

These projects were selected for their creativity, potential for environmental impact, and alignment with Oakville's sustainability goals.

Launched by Mayor Burton with Bloomberg Philanthropies, the fund supports young individuals and groups in Oakville who are passionate about local climate change solutions.

The fund will provide financial resources to bring the ideas to life. This year’s winners will receive funding to implement their projects by December 31, 2024.

"Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are leading the charge today," said Burton. "The Youth Climate Action Fund is a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of our young residents, and I am incredibly proud of their work protecting our environment."
