New Deputy Fire Chief appointed to Oakville Fire Department

Jeremy Inglis has been appointed as the Deputy Fire Chief of Training and Support Services for the Oakville Fire department, bringing over 16 years of experience in fire service and leadership from his previous role with Central York Fire Services.

The town of Oakville announced yesterday, July 9, 2024, that Deputy Inglis was appointed and will begin his new role as of July 22, 2024. 

In his new role, he will oversee training, dispatch communications, and fleet maintenance, and contribute to departmental policy and program development, enhancing Oakville's fire services. 

"Oakville Fire is excited to welcome Jeremy Inglis to our dedicated and diverse team of fire services professionals," said Oakville Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault.

"His vast experience in fire training operations, program development and strategic planning will be valuable to the town in implementing the Fire Master Plan and other priorities."

During the last 16 years, Inglis has grown within the fire services across various municipal and regional governments, including at Hamilton, Niagara Falls and Fort Erie.

He was also instrumental in the advancement of training aligned with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards in all previous organizations and has served on the Executive for the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs for the past four years. 

"Council welcomes Jeremy Inglis to the Town of Oakville," said Mayor Rob Burton. "Fire and emergency services are vital to public safety, and we look forward to working with him to serve the people of Oakville."

Fire and rescue services in Oakville are delivered by more than 250 full-time personnel. The Oakville Fire department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure the safety of Oakville residents and visitors.

The Oakville Fire department operates from nine station locations as well as the Oakville Training Campus for Emergency Excellence.
