Oakville restaurant The Hungry Italian is stepping up to help families in need on Christmas Day.

The restaurant will be preparing meals for those who will need them on December 25.

This initiative was brought forth by new contributor to the restaurant Liana Gualtieri, who has been heading up this idea since her former restaurant called The kitchen at mono mills in Caledon.

For the past five years she has helped provide Christmas meals for families of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Peel, Halton, and Dufferin region.

With help from client sponsorship, she supported and helped over 100 families every year by making them meals on Christmas Day.

Liana has now brought this initiative to her new restaurant in Oakville since she has now teamed up with Sandi Stoyan and her restaurant which was called The Hungry Dragon and has now changed its name to The Hungry Italian after the two agreed upon a name.

The restaurant plans to work tirelessly on Christmas Day in order to give families what they truly deserve, which is a warm cooked meal on one of the biggest family holiday's of the year.
