The Oakville Trafalgar High School girls Volleyball team finished in 3rd place at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) tournament this past week.
The tournament took place from March 3-5 at Frank J. Hayden Secondary School in Burlington.
Oakville Trafalgar put on an incredible performance at this event.
At the start, OT was ranked as the number one team in all of Ontario so the club had some expectations heading into the tournament.
They won their first three games against Bishop Strachan Ursuline, and St. Marcelinus on day one of the event, and won their final round-robin game against Jacob Hespeler to advance to the quarter-finals.
In their quarter-final match, OT faced off against Thornhill's Westmount Collegiate and won the game in three straight sets advancing to the semi-finals to face Dunbarton High School.
Sadly for OT, the club was unable to defeat Dunbarton and the Red Devils were unable to reach the championship match but were still able to play for the Bronze Medal.
OT matched up against Thornlea Secondary School in the Bronze Medal game and won the game 3 sets to 1 securing the Bronze Medal.
Although not the result that the team was hoping for heading into the tournament, third place is still an amazing accomplishment for this group of young woman.
