Oakville Transit has announced they will be raising their price to ride the bus in town starting next week for most fare types.
Beginning next Monday, July 1, 2024, fares are increasing to new prices announced today, June 26.
The decision to increase bus fares comes following approval by town council "as part of the 2024 budget," according to town staff.
The good news is that cash fares will remain the same, and PRESTO one-trip fares will only increase by ten cents per ride.
The new prices will be:
- Cash fare will be $4 (same as before)
- PRESTO Adult fare will be $3.40 (up from $3.30 each way)
- GO co-fare will still be free
- A monthly adult pass will now cost $143
SPLIT cost will be 50% of the prices listed above.
All of the age groups below, meanwhile, will still travel for free on Oakville Transit.
- Senior (age 65 and up): Free with valid PRESTO card
- Youth (age 13 to 19): Free with valid PRESTO card
- Children (age 12 and under): FREE with valid PRESTO card
