Laughton, who has been a key target for the Leafs all season, will fill their need for a bottom-six centre. In addition to Laughton, the Leafs received two late-round draft picks in the deal.
In exchange, the Flyers are sending prospect Nikita Grebenkin and a 2027 first-round pick to the Leafs. The first-round pick will be top-10 protected.
This season, Laughton has recorded 27 points in 60 games, playing for a Flyers team that is not in playoff contention. Now, he joins the Maple Leafs with the opportunity to contribute to their playoff push, filling a critical role as the third-line centre.
Laughton will be joining fellow Oakville native John Tavares on the Leafs' roster.
