An Oakville pharmacy armed robbery and car chase with police has led to the arrest of four suspects between the ages of 14-18 and an on-road collision.
The robbery took place yesterday evening, Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at approximatelty 7:30 p.m. at a pharmacy on Bronte Road & Westoak Trails Blvd., resulting in the arrest of three teenage suspects aged 14-16, and one adult (18). After a police chase that led to a collision on Trafalgar Road. Two female employees at the pharmacy were transported to the hospital.
A PharmaSense Pharmacy was robbed by four suspects who allegedly assaulted two female employees. According to Halton Police, "Four masked male suspects entered the business, brandished a handgun and assaulted two female employees inside. All four made good their escape after obtaining a quantity of narcotics and an undisclosed quantity of cash."
A subsequent police pursuit took place after officers "located the vehicle and occupants and attempted to stop the vehicle, however the vehicle fled." The pursuit ended after the suspects crashed their vehicle on Trafalgar Road near Hays Blvd.
Halton Police say the accused were charged with several robbery, weapons, and driving offences.
Halton Police had a cruiser parked in front of the pharmacy for several hours after the incident.
Pharmacies have been the target of multiple robberies recently in Oakville. It's been so frequent, in fact, that some are beginning to lock their doors and limit the number of customers inside.
