It's time for one of Oakville's most unique holiday traditions that puts the 'drive' in toy drive.

The town of Oakville in partnership with the Oakville Professional Firefighters Association (OPFFA) will return to Coronation Park this Friday, Dec. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m., for their annual drive-thru Toy Drive.

“A strong, caring community makes all the difference," said Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault. "I am proud of the Oakville Professional Firefighters Association for hosting their annual Toy Drive for over 30 years, bringing joy to thousands of families through the support and generosity of our community.”

All donations to this event will be given to local families and community agencies to support youth in need.

“Winter attractions like the annual toy drive, bring holiday cheer to the town," said Mayor Rob Burton. "Oakville becomes a more vibrant and thriving town when we support those in need in our community.”

Families are asked to drive though Coronation Park, immerse themselves in the festive lighting, leave a gift card or toy donation and wave or deliver a letter to Santa.

The drive-through event will have performers and special guests, including the Oakville Fire Safety team and Sparky the Fire Dog.

Every year, the OPFFA Toy Drive is grateful for the kind donations they receive. Please note that only new, unwrapped gifts are accepted.

While all donations are welcome, the biggest need for this year is clothes for newborn babies and infants, and gifts for youth ages 13 to 15.

If you are unable to attend on Friday, the OPFFA will accept gift cards, toys, and non-perishable food items until December 18. You can drop off your items at several different locations such as Oakville Town Hall, all fire stations, and recreation and culture facilities.
