People packed into Aldershot's Tim Horton's to celebrate the start of the six-day campaign.

Burlington residents, Community Living Burlington (CLB) representatives and Tim Horton’s team members came together to celebrate the start of the second annual Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.

The festive cookies, which are white-chocolate sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles baked into them, will be available from until Sunday, Nov. 24, with half of the proceeds from cookie sales in Burlington being donated to CLB while the other half goes to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

“I am so excited that CLB is the recipient for the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign,” Brad Cook, a Burlington resident who has been working with CLB for years, said. “It’s not just about the cookies, but about the difference it can make in our community. We look forward to a great and successful campaign and to raising funds so we can make our community stronger, one smile cookie at a time.”

CLB is a local charity that seeks to improve inclusion and quality of life for those in Burlington with developmental disabilities by helping them find jobs that suit their skill sets.

Tim Hortons smile cookie campaigns have been raising funds for community causes for more than 25 years, and has raised more than $150 million for charities since the start of the campaign. The holiday smile cookies look to continue the fundraising campaign to a time of year where many people need it most.

“With so much success, we’ve decided to support even more charities and community groups in need during the holiday season,” Cameron Robins, owner of the Tim Hortons at 29 Plains Rd. W., said. “We know that our customers will be thrilled to help support and give back to the community through our campaign, and we are happy to do our part to support Community Living Burlington.”

Burlington’s Tim Hortons also chose CLB as the recipient for the holiday smile cookies in 2023, and the restaurant has worked with CLB in the past to employ residents with developmental disorders.

“We are eternally grateful for the support and helping us continue to fulfill our mission,” Ryan Mascall, an employment specialist at CLB, said. “Tim Hortons locations in Burlington have been incredible partners for over 30 years, and currently nine people are supported in our services across six stores in Burlington. I’ve been absolutely blown away by the level of support provided.”
