UNITED WAY HALTON & HAMILTON

United Way Halton & Hamilton invites community members to take part in a meaningful act of solidarity by participating in the annual Sleepless For Our Community event. Taking place on the night of Feb. 21, 2025, this impactful event shines a light on the challenges of poverty in our community, while raising critical funds to support over 124 programs that serve individuals and families in Halton and Hamilton.
Participants will spend one night in their vehicles, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., to experience a glimpse of the struggles faced by those living in financial insecurity. Funds raised will support essential services such as transitional housing, food security, mental health programs, and more.
“The demand for support in our community is at an all-time high, with countless individuals and families struggling to meet their basic needs,” said Brad Park, President and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton. “Every day, we see the impact of poverty on our neighbours. Families are making impossible choices between rent, food, and other necessities. Sleepless For Our Community is a powerful opportunity to stand together and take action to address these challenges.”
Why Participate? Poverty is a complex issue affecting thousands of individuals in Halton and Hamilton. Rising housing costs and food insecurity are pushing more people into crisis. Your participation in this event will help fund programs that provide stability, dignity, and hope to those in need.
