The fire marshal’s office is investigating a fire at a Burlington commercial property yesterday, Sunday morning Dec. 9, 2024, that caused an estimated $450,000 in damage.
The Burlington Fire Department dispatched five emergency vehicles and 13 crew members to Brant Street at 10:40 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, smoke and flames were visible.
No one was in the property at the time, and there were no injuries reported.
Officials say the fire started in an electrical room.
They’ve listed arson as the suspected cause and recommend avoiding overloading circuits.
"If additional outlets or circuits are needed, have them installed by a licensed electrician. Air conditioners and other heavy appliances should be plugged directly into an outlet," the fire department said in a news release.
