The 24th Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival Kicks Off

The 24th Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival kicks off this Friday, August 5, 2016, featuring the finest artists and legends from all branches of Jazz including: acid, latin, dixeland, smooth, world music, ragtime, swing, blues, and fusion. Performances will run from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

Dan Brubeck Quartet will be one of this year's amazing performances at the Festival.

There will be a total of 6 stages running continuously along with two indoor venues. You can even take a boat ride this year.

Parking

With attendance reaching 80K to 120K, parking in downtown can be difficult. In order to make the evening more enjoyable a free shuttle bus service is available from the Oakville GO Station to Downtown Oakville. It will start at 5:00 PM on Friday, and noon on Saturday. The last bus will leave Downtown Oakville at midnight each day.

If you are local, you can walk or ride your bike. There will be a free bike corral on Navy Street.

Downtown Oakville BIA Jazz Festival road closures

The following roadway(s) will be closed temporarily:

August 5, 2016, 4:30 p.m. until August 7, 2016, 2 a.m.

  1. Navy Street between Lakeshore Road East and Church Street
  2. Thomas Street between Robinson Street and Church Street
  3. George Street between Lakeshore Road East and Church Street

August 5, 2016, 4:30 p.m. until August 6, 2016, 2 a.m. and August 6, 2016, 4:30 p.m. until August 7, 2016, 2 a.m.

  1. Lakeshore Road East between Navy Street and Allan Street
  2. Dunn Street between Robinson Street and Church Street
  3. Trafalgar Road between Robinson Street and Church Street
  4. Reynolds Street between Robinson Street and Church Street

Detours

Local access through this area will not be maintained. The following roadways will be designated as the primary detour route during the closure period:

  1. Robinson Street
  2. Church Street
  3. Navy Street (south of Lakeshore Road East)
  4. Allan Street
