The holiday season has officially begun in Oakville, as the Town Square Christmas Tree has been lit for 2024.
The tree was lit at a special ceremony on Friday night, Nov. 15, in front of hundreds of Oakville residents that came out to enjoy the special evening.
The night was a fantastic celebration of the holiday season that was celebrated by the entire town.
Town Square on Lakeshore was filled with people and saw a performance by an all female group known as the Sugar Plums and the trio performed several Christmas tunes like Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bell Rock, and Santa Baby.
There was also a humongous line going through the square for people that wanted to ride in the horse drawn carriage that would take them around downtown Oakville.
Local businesses helped keep people warm and fed on night that saw the temperature nearly reach 0°C.
The night was a special way to start the holiday's off in the town and the season is just getting started.
