Halton Multicultural Council in partnership with Club Filipino of Oakville are accepting in-kind and cash donations going to Philippine Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda victims.
Requested in-kind donations are: rice, canned foods, clothes (summer, clean and gently used), bath/bar soap, children's vitamins, towels, bed sheets, shoes, socks, kitchen utensils, blankets, household supplies/cleaning items, learning materials and hygiene kits.
All in-kind donations will be given to Club Filipino of Oakville to send to families that are affected by the Typhoon. A container/cargo boxes will be sent to Tacloban City and Iloilo City's affected areas, and to Kind Project in Cebu. They will be delivering items directly to the evacuation centres.
In-kind donations will be accepted until December 6, 2013 at 1092 Speers Road, Oakville.
Please direct cash donations to the relief organizations who are registered charities and provide receipts. These include: Gawad Kalinga, ABS-CBN Foundation (for Typhoon Haiyan Relief), Canadian Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, or UNICEF. The Canadian government is matching funds to relief organizations and all funds designated for the Typhoon Relief will be double.
