At 9:12 a.m. this morning, the Oakville Fire Department responded to a call involving a single vehicle that had caught on fire on Bronte Road south of Upper Middle.

The fire was extinguished by the firefighters on sight and no injuries were reported and no collision caused the fire.

The vehicle began to leak oil and due to the spill, Halton Police needed to close off the area in order to clean up this spill. The spill of fuel was small, but enough for Police to close off the street.

Police urged all residents to stay clear of the area until the spill was cleaned up.

The spill was eventually cleaned up by the Fire Department and the road reopened close to 11:40 a.m.

The fire that caused the car to catch flames does not look to be suspicious.
