The national spotlight continues to shine on Billianne.
Adding to the Milton singer-songwriter's memorable moments was last week's appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she performed her recently-released single Enough.
The 22-year-old pop folk musician joined her parents to watch the segment, which moved mom to tears.
“That’s so cool,” she said as Clarkson introduced the Miltonian. In a poignant moment in the video -- featuring a raw introspective ballad -- her mother stated “Billi watched Kelly Clarkson win American Idol.”
“In three years, she has amassed 90 million global streams. So people are listening,” Clarkson said in introducing the young artist.
Billianne Lowry, as is her birth name, exploded onto the music scene with her haunting rendition of Tina Turner’s The Best. The song achieved viral success on TikTok, garnering millions of views when she was 18.
But after the release of her first original song, No Wonder, in November of 2022, things kicked into high gear. She has made a splash at the Openluchttheater de Goffert in Nijmegen, Netherlands, toured with Australian indie folk band Hollow Coves and opened for Serena Ryder and KT Tunstall.
The year before that tour, she had made her debut on the big stage. With an introduction from none other than Canadian music legend Jann Arden, she trod onto Massey Hall’s stage and belted out one of the many ballads she's known for.
One of her latest music videos saw her perform her song Crush at an alpaca farm, while last spring she performed on The Today Show.
She often pays homage to her family as well as Toronto, which she considers her adopted city, in her works.
