A special weather statement has been issued for Oakville by Environment Canada for today, Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
The advisory warns of "strong southwesterly winds developing Monday afternoon," with speed up to 90 km/h.
A similar alert has been issued for much of southern and northwestern Ontario, including all of Halton region, including:

- Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
- Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
- Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
- Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
- Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
- Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
- Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 80 or 90 km/h have been described as possible threats today.
Environment Canada says that high winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break, and that power outages are also possible.
"Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 80 or 90 km/h are forecast to develop on Monday afternoon and continue into Monday night," according to EC.
