Team Canada has announced their tryout roster for the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships in Ottawa.
Among those names is Oakville's own Calum Ritchie, who has been dominating the Ontario Hockey League with the Oshawa Generals this season.
Ritchie has played in 15 games so far this season with Oshawa, totalling seven goals and 26 assists for 33 points.
He's already got some NHL ice time too: he played in seven games with the Colorado Avalanche earlier this fall, and was able to score his first NHL goal.
Ritchie will now have the chance to tryout for Canada's World Junior team along with some of the best young talent the country has to offer.
Although his spot on the team is by no means a guarantee, he's likely to make the team out of training camp and will be looked at to play a big role on this team and try to bring them to a Gold Medal.
The World Juniors will begin in late December, and Ritchie is hoping to be on Canada's opening day roster and being a big contributor to the club.
