Two rising hockey stars from Oakville have been awarded Top Performer honours for the month of October in the Ontario Hockey League.

The two recipients are Oakville's Michael Misa and Ethan Belchetz. Misa was named October's Player of the Month and Belchetz was named the top Rookie of the Month.

Michael Misa has been off to a magnificent start to his season - he's currently leading the league in goals with 17 so far and is second in the league in points, with 26 in only 13 games.

The 17-year-old Saginaw Spirit forward is a top prospect for the upcoming 2025 NHL Entry Draft as he is projected to be a Top 10 draft pick.

Also representing Oakville is Rookie of the Month winner Ethan Belchetz; he was selected first overall in the 2024 OHL Priority selection by the Windsor Spitfires.

So far, he's living up to the hype. Belchetz has recorded four goals, and eight assists for a total of 12 points in 12 games.

Belchetz has been helping the Windsor Spitfires bounce back from a down year last season, and he's now being considered as a potential top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft.

Top Performers are named monthly in the OHL, with four players selected for the awards each month.
