The Oakville Museum is the primary repository for Oakville historical information and artifacts. It has an extensive historical clothing collection.
Situated on a hill overlooking Oakville Harbour the museum is housed in the Erchless Estate, which was the home of the Chisholm family who founded Oakville, Ontario.
The museum also operates a historic cabin and post office that is located across the street in Lakeside Park. There is also an exhibition space located at the QE Park Community & Cultural Centre.
