The Collision Reconstruction Unit was notified this afternoon that the 21-year-old motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries in hospital. His identity will not be released.

On Tuesday July 17th, 2018 the Halton Regional Police Service was advised of a motorcycle collision near the intersection of Meadowland Drive and River Oaks Boulevard in the Town of Oakville.

At approximately 11:14 pm, a 2005 Suzuki GSX was driving west on River Oaks Boulevard when the motorcycle lost control, entered the boulevard on the north side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The motorcycle operator, a 21-year-old male Oakville resident, was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene and took carriage of the investigation.

River Oaks Boulevard was closed in both directions for approximately 5 hours while the at-scene investigation was completed.

The 21 year old male remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
