Bride for Rent is a 2014 Filipino romantic comedy film directed by Mae Cruz starring Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. It is produced by Star Cinema as its opening salvo. The film achieved numerous milestones including being the second highest grossing Filipino romantic comedy movie of all-time after It Takes a Man and a Woman and third highest grossing non-MMFF film of all-time after It Takes a Man and a Woman and Praybeyt Benjamin respectively, and also the highest-grossing January-released film of all-time in the country.


The film describes an executive who becomes the CEO of a large bank, only to upset the bank’s board of directors when he begins to take unilateral control in the bank, laying off many of the employees and making a corrupt deal with the head of an American hedge fund.

Labor Day is a 2013 American drama film based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Joyce Maynard. The film is set for a wide release on January 31, 2014, in the United States. It was announced in 2009 that the film would be directed by Jason Reitman On June 16, 2011, it was announced that Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin committed to star as the film’s leads Adele and Frank, respectively. Paramount Pictures and Indian Paintbrushco-produced the film. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on August 29, 2013,and on September 7, 2013, at Toronto International Film Festival.

The Past (French: Le Passé) is a 2013 French drama film written and directed by the Iranian director Asghar Farhadi and starring Bérénice Bejo, Tahar Rahim and Ali Mosaffa. It was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. Bérénice Bejo also won the Best Actress Award. It was shown at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The film was selected as the Iranian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The film is also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 71st Golden Globe Awards.

That Awkward Moment is a 2014 American romantic comedy film written and directed by Tom Gormican in his directorial debut. The film stars Zac Efron, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Imogen Poots, Mackenzie Davis, and Jessica Lucas. The film had its Los Angeles premiere on January 27, 2014, and is scheduled to be widely released on January 31 in the United States.


Visitors is a 2013 American documentary film written and directed by Godfrey Reggio. It was screened in the Special Presentation section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
