2nd Update: 35 Year Old Man shot in Old Oakville: Suspects at Large

As a result of the investigation of the 35 year old man shot to date, Detectives of the Halton Regional Police Service have laid charges of attempted murder against Marley Dorphelus, age 21, of Montreal, Quebec.

The incident is believed to be targeted and police do not believe there are additional public safety concerns.

Marley Dorphelus made a brief video court appearance on Saturday, August 5th and has been remanded in custody until Tuesday, August 8, 2017

Two additional suspects remain at large.

The victim remains in critical condition in hospital.

1st Update: August 4, 2017

An update regarding the 35 Year Old Man shot, was provided to OakvilleNews.Org from the Halton Regional Police at 3:45 PM, on August 4, 2017.

According to their report, the shooting did occur in the area of the Sunset Grill which is located close to the intersection of Allan Road and Cornwall.

Cornwall Road was closed to traffic from just after the police arriving at the scene, and was re-opened at 3:45 PM.

On Friday, August 4th at approximately 9:30 a.m. the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Cornwall Road and Trafalgar Road in the Town of Oakville by the Oakville GO Station. A 35 Year Old Man was shot.

He was transported to hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.

One suspect fled on foot and was apprehended by police a short distance from the scene. A vehicle involved was also recovered.

Two suspects remain at large.

Suspect 1: male, black, darker skin, 6ft, 200lbs, slim build, wearing dark, long pants and a dark shirt.

Suspect 2: male, black, 5’9”-5’10”, tight cornrows in hair, possibly wearing white shorts, unknown colour/style shirt.

Both men were last seen on foot.
