The Region of Halton’s Planning and Public Work’s Committee met today, re-electing Councillor Tom Adams as Chair of the committee for a sixth year.
“I look forward to continuing the committee’s work of controlling growth, preserving natural lands, and building and maintaining our community facilities and infrastructure,” Councillor Adams said.
“Halton’s enviable financial position of low debt and reduced taxes is supported by our Planning and Public Works Committee. We are strategically investing in building and maintaining our infrastructure with $389 million being used to upgrade, expand and rehabilitate Halton’s infrastructure in 2014. This includes over $177 million to improve our transportation system. We continue to support the key principle of our financing plan that growth must pay for growth,” Councillor Adams continued.
The Planning and Public Works Committee meets Wednesdays at 9:30am on a three week cycle. The next meeting is scheduled for February 19, 2014.
