Alert Resident Helps Police Nab Break & Enter Suspect

A male is facing a number of break and enter charges thanks to an alert resident in Oakville.

On the afternoon of November 20, 2019, an alert resident called 9-1-1 after observing a suspect whom they believed was breaking into a neighbour's residence in Oakville.

Police quickly responded and were able to arrest a male who was found in possession of break in instruments.

Further investigation revealed that the male was responsible for committing another break-in in the same neighbourhood on October 29, 2019.

Investigators executed search warrants at the home of the suspect and a related storage locker.  Further evidence believed to be from the October 29 entry was seized.

The 30 year-old man from Oakville was arrested and charged with:

  1. Break and Enter – Commit (2 counts)
  2. Possession of Break-In Instruments

The suspect was held for a bail hearing

Police are encouraging the public to continue reporting suspicious activity with regards to residential break-ins.
